Hi! My name is Liza Butler and I am a 20 year old student at the University of South Carolina in Columbia SC. A few things I like to do are run, play soccer, watch movies, listen to music, be creative, be outside, experience new things and meet new people. I am currently a Nursing Major but I am now reevaluating if nursing is what God is calling me to do therefore I am taking fall semester 2008 to really seek out God’s will for me. I was born and raised in Columbus GA as a part of a family of 5. I have two sisters, one older and one younger, and 2 very loving and supportive Christian parents. I grew up in the Methodist church and I accepted Christ as my savior when I was about 10 years old. It wasn’t until freshman year of college that I became lost in my relationship with Christ (for whatever reason this happened I am still not sure) but after this period of my life I was truly able to understand God’s glory. My relationship with Him is now on a completely different level that I thank Him for everyday. It is a different kind of love that I have for Christ that I thought I had before but now I can truly feel His presence and love all around me. I love to meet new people and experience new things and I know that this trip will let me see ways that Christ works in ways that I have never seen before.

  1. Liza, Just received an e-mail from your parents this evening….telling us about the website and blog page. I was going to call or e-mail your mom tonight anyway because you have been on my heart and mind all afternoon. I wasn’t sure where you were right now, but trusted that the Lord had put you on my heart to pray for you. I am thankful to know that you are in Africa safely. Please know that we are praying for you…..that He will keep you safe, that He will open your heart and mind widely enough to see Him at work, and that He will draw you to Himself, giving you clear discernment about what doors He desires to open for you. We love you and are thankful for the work He is doing through you. Cheryl Carroll
