It’s the end of Saturday and we are just about through
training camp. It’s been amazing;
I think for all of us this has been one of the longest and most intense weeks
of our lives. The team has bonded
in the most unbelievable and God-driven way. Throughout the week we have been put through many team
builders that have stretched us mentally, physically, and spiritually. One such example was an obstacle
course, where we had to get our whole team through a tire suspended in midair
without touching the sides (we did it!).
Another such example was the Spider’s Web, which required our team to
pass through a series of strings tied around trees without touching them. Each team builder taught us how to
communicate and work together as a team.
Even more importantly, how to rely on each other for help. We learned that we will not be in
Swaziland working individually, but together, as the body of Christ. It’s only with the hand of the Lord
that love can form between 9 strangers in less than a week.
Individually, the Lord has moved in big ways throughout
everyone. As leaders, we feel so
blessed to see the way everyone on the team has been opening up to the
Lord. Each day, they have sat
through talks which have challenged them to dig deeper. In the evenings they would have the
opportunity to just worship the Lord and allow him to work through anything
they were holding onto. They have
been encouraged to “choose-in”.
Meaning, this trip is about putting all of yourself into it, choosing to
surrender the past, present, and future to the Lord. It has been beautiful to witness everyone on our team
“choose-in”, and be willing to give the Lord everything. Witnessing the miracles that happened
during training camp and the way in which the team has bonded, has given us
such excitement for Swaziland.
The Lord is going to do big things in and through us!
