Last Two Weeks

Well, we just returned from being in Nsoko for a week. While we were there we camped at a campsite in a game park. There were different animals all over the place, including Lucky the Lion (of course he was in an enclosed area). Several times late at night and in the morning we would be awakened by Lucky doing his territorial call. When we first arrived on Sunday, we actually were able to watch the park workers feed him half of a donkey! We met a guy named Devin, who was working at the park doing research on snakes, most namely the Black Mamba (known as one of the most dangerous snakes in the world!). He took us on a private tour of the snake exhibit and he let a few of us hold a huge python. While in Nsoko we spent time at two of the carepoints. The team did VBS and played lots of soccer with the kids. We were also helping to set up a new Timbali Craft site at which several ladies in the community will be able to earn an income by making purses. This is such an awesome thing for this community being that any source of income is hard to come by. The area is very impoverished and drought stricken. Jobs are hard to come by and it is almost impossible to grow crops in the hard, dried out soil unless you have an irrigation system. Even though we were only there for a week, we grew close to the people and it was very hard to say goodbye on Friday.
So, here we are back in Manzini for our last few days of ministry. It is good to be back spending the remainder of our time with the amazing friends we have made here. Tommorow we are doing a big cookout for the kids at GuGu’s school, then we will head to the Hope House to visit with our friends there. After Friday, we have only 8 days left in Swaziland and then we will head to South Africa for 3 days for debrief. Please be in prayer for us to finish strong and to make the best of our final moments here. We pray that you all are well and we look forward to seeing you all soon!

  1. Hey team Swazi!!
I’m encouraged to hear that things are going well for you guys in Swaziland. I know you have fallen in love with God’s people there and it will be hard to leave. Dig in and give it all you’ve got these last few days. The Lord has done so much in and through you and He’s not done yet…finish well! Know that we’re praying for you guys.
